    BPS (Blocks Per Sec.)

I have a Haas gr 712 gantry and am trying to run high speed machining on it. I have the 200 hours free trial on and loaded a g187 to the program and i get an error 178 divide by zero alarm. I also run vf 2 and vf 4 with hsm. but those i never put g187 in the program so am I really activating it? I talked to Haas tech and they asked if my program was over 1000 bps. That I don't know and not sure how to calculate it out either. I do run my programs from machine memory though, so I don't understand what that has to do with the program length. I have tried to change setting 191 to Finnish or, the g187 p3 e.015 and still, the same alarm. I posted this first in mastercam forum but they said maybe try here. thanks for the help.

A 178 alarm is most likely a parameter issue. Have you restarted the machine? Call your local HFO and have them do a parameter check if you cannot get the issued resolved.

A G187 is not necessary to activate HSM. HSM is active whenever the parameter for it is set to on.

You can calculate BPS by using the formula found here:

You need a leading zero after the E:

    G187 P3 E0.015
