    Steel Adjustment Blocks

Can anyone think of any reason NOT to make the adjustment blocks out of steel tubing?

Fabrication shouldn't be a problem, I'm just wondering what other possible cons might be vs plastics.

Looks like a great idea. Both the wood and plastic ones seem to fail over time. The threads just don't hold up. your design would also give you plenty of room to get a wrench on the adjustment bolts. Best of luck with your build.

The only reason I didn't go with steel was that I could cast them out of aluminum in my backyard foundry! (flame2)

Good thinking, you could also weld some nuts to the outside of the square tube for the adjustment bolts.
