    Mazak G-code

    Quick question:

We have a Nexus MSY, the current operator uses the Mazatrol to program, I want to use MasterCam, but don't have an example of the G-code format to start building a post. Is the formating the same as Fanuc?

    Thanks, Robert

Thanks, though that is Mill code, but it looks pretty standard hopefully it will be the same case for a turning center.

From what I remember of G-coding Mazak lathes over 10 years ago, you can probably just use a default Fanuc post to get started. Where you might run into problems is some of the M-codes and canned cycles. If you keep everything G0, G1, G2, G3, I, K, etc. basics, then it should work. You might have to toy with some of the formatting at some point.

Thanks, I don't have any problem mofifying a generic Fanuc post processor (try it for an Okuma :violin, I just needed to know if I could refrence Fanuc for where to get started.
