Hi All,
I have a vf-6 Haas and had the chip auger shaft break. The motor is working fine. There are multiple gears that drive the auger. I only need this part replaced. Haas will only sell the complete assembly and motor costing close to $600.00. Any idea's were I can get just this single part? Here is a few pics.

Is the gear part of the shaft or a separate piece? I think you could just make a new shaft, press on or weld on the old gear and put some new bearings on it.

That is what I was thinking as well. But My company is just starting out and I have no lathe or press to do that. I would have to outsource it. And most of the job shops are 3 weeks out or more.

If you can't make it you'll probably have to pony up for the $600. It would probably cost half that to get it done outside, at that point, it would be nice to have a spare motor and other parts. Put the new one on and keep the old one for spares. I really doubt you could ever find just the shaft you need, unless you could find someone parting out a haas auger drive on ebay or craigslist or something.
