    Galil reverse axis direction

Is there a way to reverse the axis direction using native Galil commands?

My reason is for homing. The CN command determines homing direction. I'd like to home all the axis simultaneously. Two axis need CN,-1 and two axis need CN,1. If I could temporarily flip the direction, all axis could home at once. Then change the direction back.

It is done using the CE and MT commands.
One reverses the encoder, the other the motor command.
But still not clear why you would want or have to do that?

    Thanks Al,

    Today two axis are homed
    CN ,1
    SP 5000,,5000
    HMXD
BGXD 'home the X and W axis

    Then the other two

    CN ,-1
    SP ,5000,5000
    HMYZ
BGYZ 'home Y and Z together

If two axis were flipped, you can home everything at once

    CN ,1
    SP 5000,5000,5000,5000
    HMXYZD
    BGXYZD

Have you considered changing the state of the Home switch for the ones you want to reverse the home direction?

Ya, I suppose that would work also. But I'm partial to NC switches. Any kind of failure results in an open. With NO, you can have a failure and not know it. Plus, I already wired it. Software is easier.

    Thanks for the help.

That is usually the case for O/T sw's, with home switches it usually does not matter as all that will happen is that it will try to home in the wrong direction and hit the opposite end O/T.?
