Hi Guys,

I'm new to solidworks and I would like to know, how do you extrude cut, let say diameter 10mm through holes with 45 degree angle or any other degree for that matter.

Quite simple actually - the default behavior of the extrude cut is is to cut in a direction normal to the sketch plane.

To cut at 45o, simply create a reference plane at the angle you desire and draw the sketch there.

da plane, da plane! play around with planes a lot- it will allow you to do anything at any angle anywhere on the part or in space.

Learning to use planes appropriately is a core understanding to using SolidWorks. I never "got it" until I had someone show me how they could do something in about 2 minutes that I had worked on for days. VERY humbling, and very educational!

Another option is to use a guide line. Create your sketch on the surface you wish to extrude through. Then create a guide line 45° from the surface you wish to extrude through.
