Back EMF problem for G540? (manual cranking handwheel)

I dont think I read anywhere on the manual addressing whether or not it is ok to crank the handwheel when everything is plugged in (but power off to the G540).

Is it ok or do you have to unplug everything or maybe short the resistor if it allows easy changing?

Or can you just crank away?

Feel free to crank away. Cranking will be easier if you power-up the G540 and have it in E-Stop (red LED). That way your muscles don't have to run the cranked motor as a generator.
