Probably a 25-pin serial connector.
you are right it has a 25 pin serial connector at the machine , what cables to use ? , what software on the pc?
A serial cable.
I believe you'll just use something like hyperterminal to communicate.
I have a classic 3 with an off line cam software (PEPS) we tried transfer files with hyper terminal but have to transmit so many files for it to work. We found it was better to transmit using a floppy disk
I dropped one of those 3.5" floppy replacements that takes the USB stick into my Agie 170. Works perfectly.
Format a 256meg USB stick using the software included with the drive, and it makes 100 folders numbered 00 to 99. There is a 2-digit display on the drive that allows selection of each digit.
Voila -- like having 100 floppy discs for fast access. Very easy.
If you have a classic 3 it is running OS 2 and it does not support USB
The drive I mention is a REPLACEMENT for the 3.5" floppy.
If the machine contains a floppy disk drive, this drive I mention that has a USB plug will work.
One off the best ways is to use the tcp/ip network conection
You can map a network share to a drive letter
Then you can use the inport / export funtions
