bridgeport series I CNC motor details ..

    Hi ,

I have an enquiry from a customer for retrofitting a CNC to a Bridgeport Textron Series I CNC machine.

The drives and controls on the machine are not working.
Iam trying to see if I can drive it from my 8A bipolar stepper drive.

The machine already has Unipolar stepper motors .
But Iam not finding much details on the motor current ratings etc.

Do anyone have past experience of CNC retrofitting on these Bridgeport Series I CNC machines?

Which driver would you recommend using for driving the motors on this machine? Will it work with a 8A bipolar stepper drive?

I put modern steppers on mine and used Gecko drives, now have servos on it. John Stevenson is the guy to ask about the old Sigma/Superior steppers as he has used them.
Heres a link to John Talking about them.
