Need rotary / 4th axis help

    Hi,

Attached is a crude wheel hub. I was using it to experiment with SprutCAM 4th axis. I managed to get all the spoke holes drilled easily enough using transformations. But I have two problems.

    1) Despite reviewing the Sprut 4th axis tutorial, I can't get the center slot cut. The green area are two selected faces, per the tutorial. And I have told it rotary machining. But look at the toolpaths--way off. It's not really rotary either. It's cutting one half, then rotary 180 to the other half. Not spinning round like the tutorial does. What have I missed?

    2) I have no idea what to use for the gear-like details around each side. What operations should I use? I tried pocketing and waterline, both were ugly.

    Thanks,
    Dave

Can you post the file here? I'd be happy to take a look at it.

I tried it, and I didn't get the funky toolpaths that are in your sceenshot. It worked just fine here.

I did have to go to Transition and change the Safe Level and Feed Switch level to 3.5" absolute in order to keep the cutter from going into the part at full rapid. But that doesn't appear to be related to the problem that you're having.

I'm running Sprut Version 7, Build 1.5, Rev 45786. What version are you using?
