    Backup ALL files to floppy

    Greetings Group.
I did do a search but didn't find...
Can someone outline specifically what I need to do to backup all my programs in the control to floppy.
I do see in the EDIT screen under I/O>Send Disk. Then I see the list and at bottom "ALL". Is the the correct avenue? What I was concerned about was if it sent them to the disk and emptied the machine directory or something scary like that.
    Thanks in advance.

What is the software version or serial number of this machine?

For your machine, you can try this:

    LIST PROG
    LEFT ARROW
    Select "Memory"
    RIGHT ARROW
Select "ALL" (At the bottom of the list)
    LEFT ARROW
    Select "FLOPPY" or "USB"
    RIGHT ARROW
    (Optional File Name)
    F2
    Thanks,
    Ken Foulks

    On startup I see:

    VER L05.07I
    MOCON 12.05
    03-10-14
    MODEL: TL1
    S/N: 66688

    Its a 2004

On my machine I don't have the option to left arrow from the LIST PROG screen.

For a 2004, slightly older than my machine, this should work.

    LIST PRG

    Scroll down to ALL

Type in a file name and if you want to open the resulting file in Notepad use .txt

    F2

The programs do stay in the controller, they are just copied to the floppy.

Thanks Geof, you are the man with the answers! I really appreciate it.
So this resulting file will be one large file with all the programs in it?
What does one do when/if needed to recover? Open the large file and do a cut/paste type maneuver and recreate each file?

Yes it comes out as one long file. Depending on what version of Notepad it is opened in it will either open as a long string of text or as lines of text. Probably your Notepad will open it as lines.

It is tedious trying to find individual programs in the long list unless you have unique words or numbers you can search for. I have done it to pluck out individual programs to load into another machine. Just remember to add the % above and below the program you have copy/pasted.

You can reload the long list back into the machine just beygoing to List Program. ALL and then F3 (I think that is read floppy).

The sequence; Download ALL, Delete ALL and then Reload All is what you have to do when you get the corrupt program alarm. But I can tell you it is very nerve wracking to do the Delete ALL when you have many programs in the machine. I always open the floppy first and save a copy to my PC hard drive just in case I corrupt the floppy when I do the reload.

Good advise! Only had to burn me once to learn this lesson.

LOL - yeah, it doesn't erase them from the control as it saves them to your floppy disk.

It is a little funky having them all in one file. I wish it would put them all separate - like it can in the opposite way - if you have 2 programs under one file on disk it will load them as separate files on the control.

Man, I don't envy you guys still using floppys....
