So my next question to you guys is how to control the traverse speeds during the axes homing operation, again with an Bridgeport Interact running the Heidenhain 151?
I recently learned where the feedrate parameters for rapid traverse (parameters 1 - 4) are different than those used in "PLC Positioning", (parameters 163 - 166). An example of the "PLC Positioning" move is an M25 command (retract spindle) ... which is, evidently, not governed under regular rapid traverse speeds.
Anyway, the machine seems to home incredibly fast regardless of what I set parameters 1 - 4 or 163 - 166 ... sometimes resulting in the spindle axis (Z-axis) over-running its stops. Interestingly, these speeds do respond to adjustment in the feedrate potentiometer on the control panel.
Is there a machine parameter governing the traverse speeds during homing?
