    anilam 3200/3300MK password

I recently purchased a knee mill with the 3200MK control from a consignment
seller. No documentation. Luckily an aquaintance has a 3300MK of similiar
vintage and has the full set of manuals. Control was said to be dead, but it
was just the monitor. It took a while, but I got the servos to come up. K1
was bad, 24v fuseholder was loose, auto/man switch possibly corroded.
Machine seems to work fine. My only concern is I did not get a password.
I would like to save the parameters while the thing is running. Will eventually
upgrade to new control, but for now it's running.

Can one use a DOS boot disk to have it come up and stay on the DOS screen?
If so can one copy the files with dos commands?

    password is Z48.
yes on boot disk and dos commands.
using a PC keyboard, from the software option menu press ESC and then the Z48 passwords and it will dump you back to ROMDOS, the OS that is on the hard drive already.
COPY,REN, DEL, DIR, all that work the same. Editor command is NED (not EDIT).
    Good luck! - Tim

Thanks a bunch. Got ahold of Jerry Bouvier @ anilam/heidenhain.
He gave me the password. Also a copy of the Rom/Bios. The file
was zipped and named rom-dos-modified.zip I am curious what the
modified means. I can PM you with it if you desire.

I think Jerry's 'modified' disk is one that has all the disk utilities you need to formaa dn f-disk plus the rom-dos operating system.

    Thanks,
Looks like I'm to have to dust off my Dos for Dummies book.
The memory banks in my head have some bad sectors.
I plan on checking the power supplies voltages. It has +5v,
    +/- 12, +/-15, and 24v. I do remember the 5 was at 5.65.
What are the recommended tolerances and does one adjust
with servos on or off? Is there a sequence, first 5v, then 24
    etc?
I found the pots on all supplies. v adj. on 24v and vr1 on the
    others.

Usually the only one you need to worry about adjusting is the 5V on the 5 & 12V supply. The 5V is critical for operating the CPU and motion control board. Easiest place to minitor it is the red and black wires next to each other going into the hard drive itself. 5.1 - 5.2VDC is optimal. Much lower than 5.05 or so will usually result in lock up-s and re-booting on its own.
