Today, I was working on my 8020 CRS build and discovered something weird. When I was bench testing the motors and my cabinet, I never had a problem with the G540 at all. Once I moved everything over to the router I was getting random faults while running roadrunner.tap. I tried a few things including turning off the watchdog, disconnecting motors etc. Finally I decided I had better try using the "original" cables I had used when setting up the
G540 instead of the "new" cables I had on the table. Imagine my surprise when it started working perfectly. The only thing I can see differant is that the cables I had originally used were thicker than the new cables I was trying to use.

So, if you are finding random faults with the G540, try a differant cable with larger wires in it. It just might cure your problem.

PS, anyone wanna buy some hardly used 25ft serial cables? cheap! I have 5 of them
