    Feed Rate Override not working?

For some reason my feed rate override doesn't want to work. The spindle override works fine. I checked setting 19 and it's off. This is a 2011 VF2.

Thanks for any insight and I apologize in advance for the dumb question.

    1. Are you in the middle of a program in memory?
    2. When you press +10 FEED does anything happen/display?
    3. Are you in a probing cycle?
    4. What is the value in variable #3004?
4a. Run #3004=0 in MDI to clear override control.
    5. What is your feedrate?
    Thanks,
    Ken Foulks

    1. I'm trying to use it while running a normal program off of USB.

    2. When +10 feed is pressed it displays 110% feed and shows the programmed feed and actual feed rate differently.

    3. It's not in a probing cycle.

    4. I'll check this as soon as I get in front of the machine this evening.

    5. Feed rate can be anything. Has been between 50-100 lately.

    Thanks for the reply Ken!

If you programmed F100. then hit +10, the Actual Feed should be 110, while the Programmed Feed remains at 100.

Try overriding the feed to 0% if it stops, then it is working correctly.
    Thanks,

It does make a change to the "actual" feed rate on screen, but you can run it from 0% to 999% with no change in the real feed.

Check the 3004 variable. If it is 0, send me the parameters and settings. [email protected]
    Thanks,

I made sure the #3004 variable was set to 0. It will adjust the feed rate down, but still will not adjust it up. How would you like me to send you the parameters and settings?

Send me an email and will give you the instructions. Then you can post back here with the fix.
    Thanks,

Well I figured it out on accident really. I had been running a couple programs with constant stepover high speed toolpaths that really didn't look like they were running at full speed. After exhausting all avenues and coming up with nothing, turned on my HSM demo in the control and bam, full feedrate. Evidently all the programs I have been running as of late have not been able to reach full feed rate due to look ahead limitations. Holy crap it runs everything so much smoother with HSM. I have no idea why it's even an option and am not all happy about having to pay $2400 to have my machine run simple contours at anything faster than 60ipm or so. *sigh*

im grinding carbide tips on a tre pan tool in the c axis at 88 degrees. Im having more than .001 t.i.r from the hole of the trepan tool to relation with the o.d and i.d . im using a .375 x .375 grinding wheel at 7500 rpm. i think its way to fast and dangerous but my boss says it has to be that fast. im getting a very bad finish any speed and feed recommendations. also what could be causing all that run out
