Question Servo motors rated at 85volts power supply at 100volts?

My servo motors are rated at 85vdc 7amps,and are the motors that came with on the mill when I bought it,after putting power to the machine I took a reading at the motor input and it read 100vdc. Should I be making sure that it only puts out 85vdc max or should it be less,I will be using viper 200 drives and mach3.
    Any help would be great.

    Thanks Mike

With PWM drives you can control the voltage mean level in order that the motor does not exceed its maximum rpm.
100v on a 85v motor will do no harm, per-se, only if it was continuous causing overspeeding.
