Hello everyone,
I posted a while back (in general metalwork discussion) that I had fried the circuit board on my 7" X 8" Craftex lathe because stalled the machine, blew the fuse and then bypassed the fuse. Well, I bought a new control panel and now when I turn on the power the motor only runs at full speed--no control at all. Back when I originally had the problem I was using a jumper wire amongst the various contacts and I (stupidly) jumped between two 120 volt hot contacts--lots of sparks. My question is this--is it possible that I damaged the motor, is there something in the motor that receives the control box signals? If so can I fix it? I am hoping that I got a faulty new control box and don’t have to also buy a new motor. I am out of funds.
I am posting this in two forums—General Metalwork Discussion and Machine Controllers Software and Solutions.
Here are the motor specs that I got off of the label on the motor—250W, DC-110V, 2.9 amp, Class C Reverse, 83ZYT250, 4500 RPM.
Thank you for taking the time to read my post.
