    U100-L Thread help

Hi all, I am new to the forum but not to CNC in general. We have an older LH35-N with an OSP U100-L control that does not have the IGF set up. I frequently have to make internal and external pipe threads. Can someone give me an example of how the program should look for like a 6" NPT external? I have been having a hard time getting it to work. I have been using the g71 but it does not operate like I expect it to.

    Thanks in advance....

Here is the code I have tried. I am on the back turret of an LH 35N so I am threading from Z-2.0 to Z.250 which should be 2 pitches in front of where I want to start adn 2 pitches past the end of the stub..

    G71 X6.396 Z.25 I-.089 B60 D.010 H.100 F.125 M23M32M75

My problem is probably part code but I think more that I don't really understand the start and finish depths that I should be using.

Any help is really appreciated, I really need to run these parts tomorrow!!

    OSP U100L

    Thanks,

    Nathan

Noone on this one? 6 inch pipe thread with a g71?

    We have tried:

    G71 X6.403 Z.25 A-1.78 B60 D.010 U.002 H.100 F.125 M22 M32 M75

We are on a rear turret so we have to thread ffrom the back out.

You need to post your start point in X and Z, then we will know what to tell you, sorry for the delay.

Here's an extract from an Okuma manual.
You didn't mention that you had looked through one.
