In slic3r you can scale by percentage in each x, y, and z. I had to scale a model today by 2.5% larger because it was printing undersize. :/ just another way to modify without opening in cad.

    Re: Hoss's 3D Printers

    Hi,

I am running a Gregs extruder. I would like th machine the small gear (10 tooth) out of aluminum.
Does anyone know what pitch the gear is?

    Thanks

    Sean

Did you end up just using nuts in those miny extrusions? Or did you find a drop in "carrier nut" of sorts? I've found upon disassembly (rebuild) that many of the nuts I was using dug into the aluminum extrusion all over.

    Hi Hoss et al.

Any thoughts on someone starting out (first 3D printer) with a MendelMax 1.5 kit? Looks fairly stiff with Mitsumi aluminum frame. I'm working my way through this thread, sorry if this has been discussed already.

The first printer I built (and only one) was an extra large self sourced MendelMax 1.5, so you would probably be ok with a kit. It is a pretty stiff machine as is, and you can make it even stiffer if you add a bunch of metal brackets from Misumi. Overall I'd say it is a pretty well done machine, but then I might be a bit biased, since I built one.

    Hay Hoss.

Been watching your ob14 build forever and I'm hoping to build one myself. I just completed a printrbot simple and am hoping to use it to print the parts for the ob14.. but I'm restricted to a 4"x4"x4" builds area...
Are there many pieces that will exceed those limits?

    Thanks.

I think the only one that would is the switch panel on the right side, not very important.

    Re: Hoss's 3D Printers

I am looking to build one of the Hoss style OB14 printers and need someone to print me the parts for it. Any recommendations for someone/someplace reasonable? I didn't see anything in the classifieds. I realize this forum may not be the best place to look for this.
