Does anyone know the parameter to change the comma to a decimal point?

Not a fair question. Need to know which TNC control. I also had problems doing label calls because so of the older controls did not recognize the decimal point.

I have a Bridgeport Series II Interact 4 with a Heidenhain TNC 2500 controller. I just get bugged by the use of the European use of the comma as a divider for the difference between the intergers and the decimal part of the number. I found the parameter to change it on my Interact I Mk2 wit a Heidenhain TNC 151, But the parameter list looks totally different for the 2500. Do you need to know the software serial number?

I have the 2500 book and would look for you if I knew where to look.
Is there usually a list ?

The TNC 2500 has a totally different set of parameters from the 151 control. Not only that but there is a difference with which level of software you have. Originally the 2500 came with version 3. Eventually BPT settled on version 12 (done by ROM) change.
I have a service manual for this control and will have to get by the office to look this up.

I have the NC: software number 243000 12 . The PLC: software number 250144 10 .I have a list of all the parameters and their values, but I would like also to find a synopsis of what each parameter controls. Such as one parameter may change the control to a foreign language. And such...Thanks, Dan

Has the technical ref manual. That should have a list of all the parms and what they do. I grabed the 151 version when I was debugging my MK2 and it helped quite a bit.

Per the Heidenhain web site manual it is parameter 7280.

If entered all the parameters by hands,when i restart the machine,there is no parameter

There may be corrosion in the battery compartment, or a broken wire. etc. If the batteries have a good connection to the control, it should hold the parameters.

As you probably know the Heidenhain link that Paul provided now requires a login. I upgraded from a Bridgeport with a TNC 151b to a couple with TNC 2500's. (NC SW 243000 08, PLC SW250144 03) and in the process obsoleted much of the information I have compiled over the last 5 yrs . Would really appreciate getting the parameter documentation for the TNC 2500 if someone would be willing to send it to [email protected].

Would also appreciate any insight folks might have about the TNC 2500 not holding onto machine parameters. One of my TNCs lost its parameters due to the battery getting disconnected. Replaced the batteries, verified the polarity and voltage (4.68V) and even pulled the power supply board to verify the connection on the power supply connector pins - everything matchs the other TNC 2500 that works. The only problem is the unit continues to forget the machine parameters when I test it by entering the first 10 values. Has anybody seen similar behavior? If not, suspect I will be calling Heidenhain on Monday.

Just wanted to post the answers to the questions I raised, and prevent anyone from working too hard on the issues. Rick Antkowiak at Heidenhain was great help today and informed me that the early TNC 2500 HW needs the full set of parameters to be entered before it will remember parameters. In addition, he pointed me to the Heidenhain OMA ("Operating Manual Archive) portion of the Heidenhain web site where the 2500 manuals including the parameter documentation is stored under the TNC 200 section. Hope that documenting this experience helps someone else get answers more quickly.
