    MCam X5

hey I just started using X5 after using 9 for years and years,
can someone please tell me in plain words how to change my front view into the top so I can program it from that position. the solid file came to me oriented in a different plane / view. in 9 I could do it but in X5 th GUI is different or the command is hidden somewhere I can't find it.

thanks for your help. I'll stumble along until I hear from someone.

    thanks

At the bottom of the screen there are boxes labeled_ Planes, G-view and WCS. Click on G-view and a menu will come up and you can change the view, but you will have to change the construction plane the same way to toolpath.

Use the X form translate 3d function select the starting plane and the then the desired plane. I would also copy this function into a new level. Good luck

I would say this was a Solid Works file.
Use the WCS button lower right hand corner. Go to View Manger set the WCS and C\T to front. theis will get you going right away. or try watching the video that came with X5 showing the updates you will see the Dynmic Xform much easier and better the 3d xform.
