    Software Limit Switch

    Hi all,

I have a Fryer ET-30BB Lathe with a Siemens control (with Shopturn 7.50.18.00). The control parameters seem to be like the ones from Siemens 810, since I have the following parameters:
    36100 POS_LIMIT_MINUS
    36110 POS_LIMIT_PLUS
    36120 POS_LIMIT_MINUS2
    36130 POS_LIMIT_PLUS2

36100 is set to -16.1 inches and 36110 is set to 0.01 inch, which are the software limit switches for X-axis.

I am trying to set software limit switches for Z-axis, but 36120 does not seem to activate. I've tried doing zero return as well as restarting the machine to see if they would activate.

Edit: Z-axis negative end of travel is unnecessary as different mandrels will give different limits. Cheers.

you need to make sure you select the Z axis in the upper right hand corner of the screen. use the Axis + / - buttons to select. the parameters will still be 36100 and 36110. you only see one axis at a time. 36120 and 36130 are optional parameters not being used. hope this helps.
