    Can't zero reurn cobra 42

    I have a cobra 42 lathe with a fanuc 21i-T controller. I had a 307 apc battery alarm, which has been cleared with a new battery. I now have a

    300 APC alarm: x axis needs zrn
    300 APC alarm: z axis needs zrn

    I have tried using a g28 g00 u0.w0. but no luck, also a small start up program included in the book using x#501 ?? etc. no luck

    parameter 1240 still has metric coords for a default possition for #1 ref return.

    Any help would be appericiated.

    Absolute encoders? Do you have to home it on start up? If yes, and no...in that order, then you have to reset home positions. Always reset X-axis first.

    Got the machine up. Had the techs come in
