I have used YRC freight, they have ties to the Canadian freight company I use, but YRC are US based.
I know there is a difference if you want it covered freight or open flat bed.
Also the type of loading unloading and whether you a residential area limiting the carrier size at delivery and if it has to be offloaded to a local carrier first, or whether you are an industrial facility with offload capability.

I mentioned Canada just because YRC is a link to my local Freight company when I import, it will not concern you in your case.
The best thing you can do is contact them through the 1-800 number and explain, they will give requirements and costs.
It might be cheaper to get the shipper to tarp it for flat bed, if the machine is not crated.

Premier was one we used to use. If you can get it on a truck with another load probably 3k or so.

Well, it is about as long of haul you could get in the us, unless it was going to Washington. It's 1500 just to bring machines up from long beach port to sf bay area.

Your best bet is to check with some local LTL (less than truckload) companies in your area.
A flat bed truck just for your load tarped will run about $2.00/mile. So it's best to "share" a truck.

I have had good success with R&L Carriers. They have delivered many things to my Florida address.

If you know the weight and the type of insurance you want they can quote over the phone.

Please give us a follow up on what they quoted, and how the actual delivery went.
