Is the DX32 Software for V2XT and Torq-Cut 30 the Same?

I have a V2XT that was one of the last made. I recently purchased a Torq-Cut 30 from around the 1997 era. I have the DX32 backup disks for the V2XT but not sure if I will be getting the backup disks for the Torq-Cut. Will the DX32 back-up disk for the V2XT work for the Torq-cut as long as i have a backup copy of the Torq-cut's BMDCPRMS.SYS parameters file?

    Thanks for any info

I do not think so. Too many differences in the internals (drives, etc).
I do not recall seeing a software disk that covered both.

I was hoping that wasn't the case. To pick your brain, what years were the TC22 and TC30 made? It seems like not too long before Bridgeport switched to the nomenclature of TC1, TC2, 3 and 4. Was it the notorious lawsuit that made them switch?

The lawsuit was due due to the inability of the DX32 control to do 3D work. The BMDC did not really have a fast processor. Bridgeport come out with a BMDC4 which had more memory and a faster processor. Bart Stater also modified the algorithms for acceleration and deceleration and modified the Siemens tuning cards in the Siemens drives for a great improvement in 3D machining on the vertical machining centers like the 760.800 and 1000.
The Tc22 and 30 use DC motors and these use brushes. These were getting dated. So Bridgeport had to keep up with the competition and they switched to Yaskawa drives and brushless motors. Thus the TC1 etc. Also built with a Fanuc control.
I have to check my records to see when I installed the last V2XT.
