    Induction motor

Can anyone confirm that a VFD is capable of running an mains induction motor? its 1.5hp at 250v or is there a controller out there to regulate its speed?

    Thanks.

As a rule that is the ONLY motor that can be run on a VFD
But 3phase, 1ph motors do not take to variable frequency, unless they are capacitor run, not just cap start, and even then can drop out of run at low rpm.
Some claim to be able to run a BLDC, but so far I have not got any of the manuf. to explain how?
For up to around 5hp, VFD's can be obtained to run on 240v 1ph with 3ph output.
