    wire length

    is there a max length I can have my wires from my boards? maybe a formula or something based upon guage, length, voltage etc? I want to keep my controller and computer about 12 feet in an equipment rack, away from the mess if you know what I mean.

    This is just one of many online charts that show wire gauge versus current handling capability. They usually show resistance per foot and other values. You can find online calculators also. Just type in your known values to get the result.
