    Anyone know of an atmospheric engine that does this...

    Pull in some air, compress it, displace it to a hot area for expansion using the now compressed hot "working fluid" to push a piston. Instead of using atmosphere it could use a combination of atmosphere and water mist or "fog" like was is created by ultrasonic misters.

    Sounds like a deisel that has run out of fuel;-)
