    boxford connection

    hi all
    i reciently purchased a boxford tcl 160 cnc lathe ,made in 1993. it has a parallel port at the back of the machine . i have no software to control the machine from a pc . has anyone got any info as to what software to use, and how to configure the pc to run this lathe.

    Good luck if you contact Boxford or their distributors in the USA. I bought two used Boxford Duets and couldn't get any response from the US offices or from the UK.

    Forget using the Boxford software, buy a copy of Mach3 and convert the lathe. I messed around with boxford software (on a VMC) for ages and it was next to useless (was the very early Pc software). I have now converted my machine to run off a PC printer port. I have contacted Boxford and they are genrally quite helpfull and will upgrade any machine to the latest spec for around 3000 UKP
