    Problem Dead Yaskawa 626 MT2 B Series

    Hi Everyone,
I originally posted this in "Machine Problems, Solutions , Wireless DNC, serial port" but this forum seems a better fit. I apologize, am tired, no coffee.
This spindle drive is in a Hitachi Seiki HT25S. When machine is turned on in back, the drive gets proper 3-phase voltage but no LED's come on, nothing on single 7-segment LED. Shouldn't at least the "charge" LED come on? All fuses check good. The piggy-back powersupply on the front control board was sent out and no problem found. I've read the manual and it implies that if the drive has proper 3-phase voltage applied, it should come to life (with errors), whether anything is hooked up to it or not. Maybe I read it wrong?
Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

i saw ur other post but did not reply as we do not rpr those drives. but since u got no replies i will give my 2 cents on it in general way anyway..... u probably are lucky with this failure mode; it is typically that the main LOGIC power supply has an issue and not the big expensive output IGBT section. so someone with electronic tv repair capability may be able to help you find the possibly simple logic supply problem and fix it. u can always google the model no and find places that say they can rpr it.....

I think Mike is correct. No LED with correct input power usually means a defective internal power supply. This doesn't mean that is ALL that's defective but it doesn't point to that as being the start.

Yaskawa has retrofit spindle drives that replace that MT2B unit with a drop-in digital M5 spindle system that will run the existing motor without any machine modification, rewiring or drilling of any holes.

from what i know about this problem .....nothing

does the control power up and screens come to life?
are there any alarms at all on the screen?
    Do hydraulics come on ?
    can you move the axis's?
because the power is daisy chained .....do the other amps turn on ?
you say you have 3 phase power....at drive....yes?
do you have 24v dc and 5v dc ?

just because no lights yet does not mean it is bad it may not have gotten signal to turn on yet.

unplug every thing from it except the 3 phase will it power up then?
