Hello everybody,
I'm looking for software able to produce code to engrave text, numbers on the cylindrical surface. I know mastercam can do it, but my budget is tight. Maybe someone know some software able to wrap X,Y surface around the cylinder to make it X,Y and Z, I don't have c-axis available. Thanks a lot for any help.

How are you going to rotate the cylinder? Or do you propose to confine the engraving to a certain number of degrees to top dead center?

That is the problem, I cannot rotate a cylinder. Previous engraving was done by some guy, before I arrived, I don't even know what soft he has used. It looks to me every single digit or letter is made out of bunch of little steps described by X,Y and Z. Normally I would use spring loaded tool and program only X and Y, but I don't have it
