I have wanted to get it for myself for a long time, and the deal seems to be worthy, the price is quite reasonable... thanks for posting the offer, I'll consider getting back to you with an order.

I use PicEngrave Pro to laser engrave shaded images in wood with an analog modulated 1W 445 laser diode on my CNC router and I get amazing detail with this software. It's inexpensive and very easy to use. I used it to laser engrave the image below and I would highly recommend this software for Lithophanes also.

    About your Dithering App

I see on the website you also have a dithering app. I downloaded it and gave it a try. It looks like it may have potential. I went back to your site and there is neither info (no link on the More Info) nor a purchase button.

    Mirror Lasering With Shades

I analog modulated my laser diode to vary the intensity on the back of a mirror to get shading and used PicEngrave Pro 4 to generate the g-code. Adjusted gamma, sharpened, flipped image and then used Lithophane code. This laser engraving of my little friend Wagner is back lit and the detail came out amazing. John, my hat off to you for your excellent image to g-code engraving software.

    Thanks Jeff, much appreciated.

Here's a mirror of my neighbor's dog, Toby. This one was dithered before engraving. Mirror is 5" x 5" from Dollar Tree - sold for candle stands.

Also, two views of a simple stand
I made to display the mirror in a window or elsewhere.

    Laser diode engraving

Lasered this today. Thanks to friend Jeff (jeffery926) for discovering that artists canvas is well suited to laser engraving.

Edited the g-code produced by PicEngrave Pro and converted all Z axis negative moves to positive feedrate instead. Ran my laser at full power and just varied the feedrate up and down to get shades on this mirror. The lightest areas were ran at 25IPM and darkest areas were 65IPM and all feedrates in between gave it the rest of the shades in the engraving. The image is back-lit.

Create Lithophanes, wood engravings from photos and now, realistic 8bit diode laser engravings with your standard g-code controlled CNC machine. All this and more within one complete software program.

Did some image editing effects to the original photo and generated the g-code with PicEngrave Pro 4 Laser Edition. I varied the power (analog modulated) my 445nm laser diode to engrave shades of grey on Birch plywood.
