Yep, I still have the half of the 1/2 x 8 TPI x 2 start (18" or so) plus other odd ball left overs, over purchases - 10 or 15 1/2" spring nuts and some 1/2 bolts ( 1 or 1 1/2" IIRC).

FYI, I have all the other files from cnczone.com that have to be dimensioned thru CAD software?
If I could figure how to use the CAD software, I could design my own.
Most CAD software only supports xp pro or above and I have win98.


In other words, I am looking for a set of plans that are already dimensioned and easily printed like JRGRO did with his plans.

Since I currently do not have a CNC router,
I might be interested if a person would fabricate the mdf parts for a nominal fee.

Joe is still cutting 06 kits you should send him an email. There aren't dimensioned plans persay but there is a PDF and autocad drawings for the machine and parts to be cut and machined.

You can use Auot CAD 2000 and 2002 software with your window. if you want some pdf file, I can give some pdf.

Are you still selling the kits? If so what is in the kit. Is it the MDF and HDPE parts only? Does it include the aluminum angle (drilled and tapped)? I have to assume it doesn't come with the pipe since you can get that just about anyplace.

How about all the hardware, bearings and what not?

Hi All:

This is my first post here--but I've been lurkiong for a year or so.

I have built a "Lionclaw" Router (works well) --similar in most respects to Joe's, but a bit lighter duty. I have a "Skew" problem. Did a "345" check and have noticable error--I remember that somewhere in this Thread, there is a technique for coping with this problem--but I can't find it.

Does anyone know how I should go about "Squaring the Axies" or can lead me to the Posts Discussing it???

why are you still using 98 ? not knocking you just curious. I use it on my mill control computer as it is the last version that allows me to go to DOS directly as I have no figured out the whole dual boot thing yet. (that and I am stuck on turboCNC )

I'm going to cut the parts for a Joe's 2006 kit for a friend of mine (using my own 2006... that I built from Joe's kit). I located the .dwg files, converted them to .dxf, and have them almost ready to cut... using Vectric Cut2D.
But I can't locate anything that has dimensions for the depth of cut (for the various slots, pockets, etc. that don't cut completely through the material.

Does anybody have some idea where to find these "Depth" dimensions? I suppose I can try to measure the parts on my own machine... but it would be nicer to have the actual numbers....

I think you can measure them in the free Solidworks viewer, if you download the Solidworks model.

I'm embarrassed to admit that I never looked at the Solidworks model while I was building my machine. It would have been SO helpful... if I had only known about it.

Now... I've got the free eViewer, and can look at the whole machine, or individual components, can rotate them in space, in side, top, bottom views, etc... but I'm darned if i can figure out what it takes to activate the "measure" tool... under the Tools menu.
No matter what I try, the "measure" tool stays grayed out. What am I doing wrong?

yellow = 0.15" from surface (deep)
red = 0.25" from surface (deep)
blue = is all way through.
