I have a Dapra 3016 (made by Tree) with an Anilam 1400 control from 1993 or so. It has developed various signs of aging, but one perplexes me. When I first start it up, I release the E stop and hear the servo enable contactor engage when I press the servo on button. There's a second contactor, the servo energize contactor that is stubborn. It will not immediately kick in, which means the axes won't travel until it locks in. I have found over the years that if I start up the spindle to something like 2600 rpms, when I press the spindle stop button and there's a rush of counter EMF going through the circuit, the contactor then kicks in. It sounds like a base drum when it moves the sheet metal enclosure. It's not usually a big deal, but some days it takes warming up the circuitry for a while and other days it kicks right in. I'm a little hesitant to just start trading out parts since the machine does work and I use it about every day.

Has anyone heard of such a thing?
