    V2XT Question

There is a local company selling a '96 V2XT w/ DX-32, appears to be in
excellent condition. He is asking $10,500. Im new to CNC machining, I
currently own a CNC plasmacam, but alot of the flanges I do are 1/2" or
thicker and its not working out too good on the plasma so its up for
sale. Anything I should know or look out for when buying this
machine. Your help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Jim

This is a more up to date CNC with a hard drive and a BMDC board as opposed to the older versions with a 286/386 and the FMDC.
DC servo motors, Motion science drives, SVGA display, strictly a G & M code machine.
There is a YAHOO group dedicated to these machines as well.
Check the ways for wear, the ball screws for lost motion, the head for noise, behind the Y axis cover for rust and do a slow feed rate and see how smooth it feeds.
Check on EBAY for completed sales and you will get an idea of the going price on these.
