    Align beam in laser engraver

Ok I know that this been asked before and I believe I read all the threads on this.

I just bought one of those Ebay k40 China craps. Been having problems when engraving a picture where the machine would stop about 3/4 inch into it. I have tried to e-mail the company for over a month or two, and their "specialist" is looking into the problem. I had 20 people that wanted pictures and now I have none.

I have decide to try and figure it out my self and found that the beam alignment was off big time where the beam was not even hitting close to 3rd mirror. With some work I got it close.

But this is as good as I can get any idea what I could do?

You must go step by step.
Set 1st mirror (beam on 2nd mirror). In both positions as close to the center as you can.
Beam position MUST be THE SAME in both 2nd mirror positions.
Next do it for 2nd mirror.
And than go back and check 1st mirror again
When it`s done check 3rd mirror settings.
    That`s all.

    Hi, Dear siciait,

Your laser still needs beam alignment. It looks not unqualified from your attachment.

Dave has a very good guide post before,

    http://http://www.rabbitlaserusa.com...Alignment.html

And i have also have a manual video for that

    Hope those can help you!

Hello. I like those photo series. They show that by the time the laser beam gets to the third mirror that it is way out of wack. As cinematic says. Start at the first mirror and work your way forward. Get the near and far shots concentric (super imposed on each other) as possible before moving on to the next mirror. I hope you will post your shots after you get done so others will see the difference. It may help others.

Melody, I enjoyed your # 10 video , especially the music. The alignment part was about 8 minutes in to your video. It was nice and an interesting touch. I have a question for you. Perhaps a little strange but is there an area in Beijing where one can visit and see different shops that sell laser and electronic equipment? I know that is in some Chinese cities that there are dedicate areas where you would go to see cell phones or shoe or electrical motors , etc etc. Is your store in the Beijing area? Hope you are having a nice holiday.

    Hi there
with this k40 sometimes it starts allready with the laser tube that it is out of line. you should check 1. if the tube is square to the rails 2. that the beam hits the center of the first mirror 3. maybe you need to loosen the tube and adjust in hight and square and that the distance to the first mirror is not more then 2 inches from the end of the tube to the mirror 4. check the rails if they are square
I was there with a few machines
    greetings

Siciati , You have to get your shots on the 2nd mirror closer. As cinematic suggests the near and far shot need to be pretty much on top of each other. Can't you get it any better? Once you get that better than move on to the next mirror. Your third mirror shot must be adjusted so that they are on top of each other. The last set of shots ( that you call the 3rd mirror again) look very bad. That is where your beam is getting "lost" or out of bounds. At least that is where it shows up. The beam is no way near the center. As you make an adjustment are you seeing a change? Are you making small adjustment or small adjustments? Out of curiosity what is the distance between your near and far shot on the last one? FanFan.
