check code for a dynapath 20

Figured I would post it here aswell.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am looking at purchasing a nice used Journeyman 325 with the Dynapath 20 control on it. I have an appointment coming up to go inspect it in person. I did a simple program up in my CAD/CAM and would like someone who is familiar with the control to go over and see if my post is outputting the correct code. I am more familiar with Fanuc style code.

Thanks for any help in advance.

1/4" tool used for all operations.

    First operation

Drill down .5" pecking with full retract .1 deep at a time

Mill an inside square pocket 2"x2"

Final- mill an outside 4" diameter circle with a .250 lead in /lead out radius

I didn't check every detail, but the code certainly looks like DynaPath conversational. It should load and run. Whether it gives you the exact part you're looking for, I can't be sure.

Regardless of format (conversational or G-code) I think the you will fault out when it reads the "D" offset. On Fanuc you can pull any register value, not on dynapath. So delete that from your post!

The 'D' code in blocks 500, 502 and 504 are direction codes (0=CW, 1=CCW) in the conversational format and are needed. Also, I just noticed that your 'E' code (fixture offset) in block 6 is too large. The control won't have 54 offsets (I suspect the post was trying for a G54). Try a smaller number like E01.

Thanks for the tips. Will try and do an edit with Posthaste and see if I can get some better code out of it.

Is there any specific reasoning for all the $'s

The '$' is the conversational end-of-block character.

G-code blocks would use the line feed character as end-of-block, usually denoted as <LF>. It is an ASCII code 10.

You could run that in conversational event type 4 circle mill with about 30 seconds of programming

    gary,

Just checking the output from my CAM system, for when I get into more detailed work that I actually do. That was just something quick i came up with.

Also pulled the plug on the machine. Went and inspected it, and it was in very good condition. Looks to have been hardly used. So I bought it.
