Hello Everyone,
I may not be in the right forum, if so could you please re-direct me. Is it possible to cut a bevel gear in the mill using standard involute spur gear cutters or are there special cutters for bevel gears? The gears I am cutting are for a hand crank so accuracy is not all that important. I intend to select a cutter for the small end of the tooth profile and then offset and roll to get the large end approximately correct. I have a set of 8 spur gear cutters, module = 1mm. Any advice would be appreciated. I don't want to have to buy another set of cutters. Thank you for your time.
Colin
