Need some input guys. I've got a 5 x 10 plasma table with a 5x10 gantry kit from precision plasma. I've had issues with the z axis and finally got tired of messing with it. I ordered a k2 z axis friday after a alot of research. I also want to uppgrade the gantry it self. I ordered a 3x3 piece of 80/20 as well. I wanted to use 3 x 6 80/20 but at 7.5 lbs/ft I felt it was going to end up being too heavy for my 620 in/oz steppers. I hope I was right.

I'm trying to decide what to use for for the linear bearing. I like the idea of thk style rail with a bearing block but, I've never used it. Will a single rail say 45mm be acceptable or would I be better off using 2 sections of 20 or 30mm rail with bearing blocks?

From what I've read 45mm maybe overkill but, I feel this is something I don't want to skimp on. If this is completely wastefull overkill please feel free to let me know thanks.

Type of rail I want to use(not sure on the proper terminology)
