    Does anyone try cutting leather...

I did try to cut leather and i did it but the piece was burned out and deformed and I used speed 14 and power 28. And I have 80w power CO2 laser with laser cut 5.3 software.
I've also try to engrave with speed 400 and power 27 and was good but still no perfect.
So is there a problem or is there some better settings.

If anyone have idea please do wrote.
    Thanks

Do you have high pressure air assist? That would help. I don't really like cutting leather but engraving it is OK. IIRC high power and speed is the way to go with leather.

Your engraving speed is much faster than cutting speed, that's the reason why Engraving is not so bad but cutting is. You can try a little faster speed when cutting.

And as for high pressure air assist, there are many kinds, for example, 500W, 750W,1500W,2500W... Which one do you have?

Of cause the result with the help of larger ones are much better than small ones when working on Inflammable materials as paper, wood, leather, cloth.

So if you do leather cutting offten, you can consider changing to a larger one.

    HI, jassk,

I have asked advice from our technican. He said no big relationship with the power and speed setting. The leather is really easy burnt. It is maybe the material problem. He suggested you to find a bigger power air compressor as i told you before. And he suggested you to use Co2 or N2 instead of common air to avoid burning.

Melody is right, leather isn't really a good candidate for laser cutting. It chars and stinks!
