hi , anyone ever done any thread milling on an eztrak ? i have a job coming up with 128 3/4-10 threaded holes in 1" plates, did you use featurecam to program or something else?

Any helical thread milling will require you to have 3-axis control. Not just 2 1/2.
First, check to see if your machine has this capability. Then, it's just a circle with a Z. (pitch)
Or better many circles, because some easier controls can't make more than a circle per line.
You're correct. The cutter path would need a line for each 360 degree circle @ a depth (or height) of your thread pitch.
Plus, you'll need to find a thread mill with that proper pitch.
It would be easier to create a sub routine for the helical moves and use this for each hole location.
Allied makes a 3/4"-10 Solid Carbide Threadmill with 1.6" of cut depth. (TMUK0750-10XL) that would only require a lead-in, one revolution, and lead-out.
