Question Erratic Z movement AND NO X Y MOVEMENT

I wired up a new system with nema 34 motors, 3 axes, Power supplies, drivers, bob, etc. Wiring diag is att.
I can jog the Z axis pos/neg but It studders and the movement is not smooth.
The X and Y axis will not move at all. The wiring is identical (except for
    pin assignments to the BOB)
I have config'd the "motor tuning" exactly the same on all 3 axes, and the homing and limits are all the defaults -100 & +100.

I'm also a little unsure of the dip switch settings on the drivers. The vendor who sold me the: motors, 24v ps, drivers and BOB, shows the following:

    nema34, 872 oz-in, 15mH, 2.0a rms & 2.6a peak, 6.4v eight wires

I've set the dip switches (1-8) as: on on on on on on on on
    which is 2.0 a rms,full current,400 pul per rev.

    Any Ideas would be welcome.

change your step size down to 50, and try again, also check your acceleration settings, they really should be between 2 and 5 times the velocity setting.

    Erratic Z movement AND NO X Y MOVEMENT - part2

Thanks for your reply Wombilly. I set the steps from 1000 to 50, changed the velosity from 600 to 100, and changed acceleration to 200.

NO CHANGE - EXACTLY SAME BEHAVIOR.

    Troubleshooting

Is the problem electrical or mechanical?

Disconnect the motors from the unit and then run them. If the motors spin, then you have a mechanical issue (likely caused by binding from misalignment).

If the motors do not spin, then your problem is electrical. Use a multimeter and double check your input and output voltage. To ensure that Everything is working properly.

    What make/model are the drives?

P.s. the dip switches could be network node mapping and if all three are set the same, only one will work. You might need to change them. The manual for the drives should be able to help you with these.

    Controller Software

Sounds like you don't have your software controlling the proper pins if you are using a parallel port.
