    Question Enable/disable

    Hello people,

I'm building a machine and am going to run emc/linuxcnc.

what my question is, is i have most of the code worked out and everything but i'm building a 4 axis (evently) machine that will probally mainly do 3 axis work.

What i require is is there anyway to use the enable/disable pins on my motor driver board via emc/linuxcnc to either drop the 4th axis for 3 axis work or enable it for 4th axis work if i need and if so what is the code i should use for this if any or if i should just use a manual switch to do this.

Thanks for your help or information
    William

If it were me, I would just create 2 separate machine configurations. One a 3 axis and the other a 4 axis. Just pick the config you need at start up
