    Adaptive Roughing Sample

So if you don't know V25 now comes with Adaptive roughing, this is a 3D High Speed tool path. This can be a great tool path to rough out 2D & 3D parts.

In this example we want to use the Adaptive Roughing to clear out most of the stock on the pockets.

Here is a quick video walking through the tool path setup.

    100 % step over

Another nice feature on adaptive roughing is you can use 100% of your tool.

Nothing wrong with it, just that where would be stand ups left because the step over is greater than 50% off the cutter.

You can see how it will clean all the material with a smooth cutting motion!

Adaptive Roughing is a feature that is a high speed roughing option. Instead of using any straight line cutting movements, it uses arced movements to allow more contact per pass with the tool, allowing for a quicker roughing cycle. Think of it as a 3D Roughing HSM.
