    PROGRAM FROM COMPUTER TO HYUNDAI

TRYING TO SEND PROGRAM FROM COMPUTER TO A HYUNDAI LATHE WITH A SIEMANS CONTROLER USING RS232 CABLE. WE DOWN LOAD SOFTWARE FROM ONECNC CALLED NC LINK. WE CAN'T GET IT TO SEND PROGRAM TO THE LATHE. WE HAVE ALL THE SETTING THE SAME FROM LATHE TO COMPUTER. IS THERE A SPECIAL CABLE WE NEED OR DIFFERENT PIN LOCATION IN THE RS232. HAVE NOT HAD ANY LUCK FINDING ANY THING ON IT. ANY HELP I AM VERY THANKFUL.

Please!! Release your caps lock button. Unless typing GCode maybe.
You may need a cable with crossed signals, or links. Refer to Simens controller documentation for that end, and ONECNC for the PC end.
Are these 9 pin or 25 pin connectors?

When you sent the program from the CNC, have you tried to return the same NC program to the machine? Does the machine alarm? Does the ONECNC allow for any feedback to show you progress?

I would assume the cable is good if you get an alarm at the machine. If not, it maybe related to the serial port on the sending device (PC), and may need to be verified.

What operating system are you running? Are you adding any 3rd party hardware to the PC to send to the machine and connect the existing RS232 cable?

No alarms or feedback on machine or computer. We are trying to use a data switch that we used several years ago.
We were using ENETDNC till our local computer guy tried to set us up on wireless router and told boss we didn't need this enet hub any more and throwed it away. Now we are waiting on a new hub (going on 2weeks now). We were tring to do something other than rewrite programs over.

Looks like it wasn't broke, then it got fixed.. for good.
Did the same cable work before? If so then it is a software problem.

Yes, we used same cable from before and we tried a cable off a printer as well. So we wasn't sure if it was the software that we downloaded (for free) or if it was something we was doing wrong with the lathe cotroller.

    1. Did it ever work with that cable?
2.Is TX connected to RX at the opposite ends of the cable?

First we need the hardware to be connected correctly, then fix any other problems.
Too many things to get wrong. Trial and error is usually doomed to failure.
Need to analyze and fault find in a logical manner.

If you tried a printer cable, that sure wouldn't work.!!!
Just because pins connect means zilch.
Refer to documentation first. That's the easy begining.

Yes cable worked with enetdnc. Not sure what you are talking about we you asked if the TX is connected to the RX. I was told they used onecnc and this data switch about 8 to 10 years ago to send programs back and forth.

    No Alarm

The key here is no alarm, no message at the control. The file is never hitting the control and ideally the cable or the hardware between the machine and the PC are an issue.

Bypass any "hub" and use a local comm port on a PC to send to the CNC. Again, make sure you can return the file from the CNC to the PC.

If you can get a breakout box, we have them for $15, you can determine if the data is going to the end of the cable. If not, you have a bad cable, we have them too.

The hub is over kill for what your application and its like by a SERVER for you to run ONE CNC software. No need, save the $ and get the machine working.

Give me a call and we can probably get this hammered out over the phone in 10 mins.
