    Connecting a Cnc with bluetooth

Hi Guys, I am a Cnc Mill operator, our mill is an older model so I have been trying to hook it up with bluetooth via the serial ports to make it more efficient.

I purchased two bluetooth units and after a lot of altering settings I managed to get the two units to recognize each other and establish a connection. The settings they use are -

    Baud Rate - 9600
    Data Bit - 8
    Parity - None
    Stop Bit - 1
    Flow control - none

After a bit of messing around with the dte/dce switches by trying to send a program to the cnc pendant I found only one setting that got a response at all. The problem is the response I got was "parity error"

I checked the settings on the computers cnc program and found that the cnc uses -

    Baudrate - 9600
    Data Bit - 7
    Parity - Even
Stop Bits - (2 to send to pendant 1 to receive back)
    Flow Control - both

I tried to alter the bluetooth settings to match the cnc (I remember when we first connected this cnc to the computer these were the only settings that worked period so altering the cnc is not an option as far as I know), however the only settings that I can find to change are stop bits, parity, and flow control is yes or no - there is no "both" option. I have tried every combination I can think of and nothing works.

Does anyone have any tips at all - am I on the right track? Is it possible to change flow control and data bit settings somehow - right now I am using the windows program "hyperterminal" to communicate with the bluetooth units. Or does anyone know of a tutorial on this subject on the net - I haven't been able to find anything.

    Thanks,
    Matt.
