A friend gave me the attached drive and DC motor for my Taig spindle. I plugged the drive to 120VAC, connected the motor and it works including the variable speed on the drive.

I found the drive specs on the net and is included here if needed. But I can’t find any info on the motor particularly the HP or Watts. On the motor I can read the following: Electro-Craft Servo Products, Reliance Electric, Model E543, Serial # xx55748 (cant read the first 2 digits), Type X, Part #
543-011-0740, Customer Part # 4027126-04.

Anyone knows this motor or how I can find its power?

Going by the E series it would appear to be around 60-70ozin continuous torque and 6000rpm.
The frame size also points to high rpm.
Electrocraft made many motor to OEM standard so the exact type does not always show up in the ElectroCraft catalogues.
That controller is 3hp max on 240vac supply, but typically the E540 series were 60vdc.

Any idea what the 60-70ozin continuous torque will be in Watts or HP Al?

I just wonder if it will be capable to drive the Taig spindle. I dont want to do all the motor modification to attach it and find out that it is not worth it

The recognized conversion at 6000rpm would be around .6hp to .8hp.
But this is just a rough conversion, as HP is dependent on rpm.

Going by the E sequence it would appear to be around 60-70ozin ongoing twisting and 6000rpm.
The structure dimension also factors to great RPM. I just wonder if it will be able to generate the Taig spindle. I don't want to do all the engine adjustment to connect it and discover out that it is not value it
