    10mm acrylic cant cut

Please advise how many speed i have to use, and how many mA
to cut acrylic thick 8-10mm?. is it need twice cut or more ?
my laser 60W, focal lenght 30.8mm ZnSe. z table honey comb.

my plan upgrade to be X:1200xY:650mm and change the tube to 100-120W & powersupply is this mean all of mirror & lens must be change too?

    thank you.

    Hi there,

usally for 60w laser tube ,its suitable thickness for acrylic,we said 6-8mm,but sometimes it can cut more, maybe you can try at 95- 100% power and 5-10 speed ,the more slow, and much bigger it cut possible.we also would like to suggest to change 50mm focus to try.

And if you change to 100w or 120w laser tube ,usally focus will be 50 or 63.5mm and mirrors usally 25mm,the focus bigger,it can cut thicker.

    hope this can help you

    Best Regards

    Thanks Lucy,
from your experience which one the best to arrange 100 or 120W?
I mean if 120W extreme powerful than 100W i like to choose 120W.

    hi,
yes,the bigger power,it will cut thicker, but for 10mm,100w also can make ,120w will be much easier.

It's not really wise to cut 10mm acrylic with a 60W laser. 100W,120W or even 150W will be much better for cutting. On the other hand, your 60W Laser's main purpose is engraving and Lasers higher powered than 80W aren't much suitable for engraving. So it's either one or another. If you're going to cut thick stuff frequently, it's best to buy a higher power laser and keep your 60W laser for engraving jobs. A 100W/120W/150W laser tube won't fit in your machine and your Power Supply isn't strong enough either. So an upgrade is a no-no, just buy a new machine for cutting if you're going to cut thick stuff frequently. Otherwise, there's always Outsourcing.
