We are getting an erratic drive shutdown on our VMX30. It is like the drives are just shutting down and starting back up without cause.

When this happens it sometimes throws an x or z axis error. To be sure the limit switches have been checked and verified working properly.

Has anyone had a similar problem?

Any suggestions where I should start to troubleshoot?

Help greatly appreciated.

Does it do it if you jog x or y full travel? If it does, it may be a limit switch cabling problem.
If it shuts down while jogging, go and watch the servo amps in the back cabinet to see if any of the displays change (even really briefly) from RUN to either POT or NOT. If it shuts down, note the axis that is faulty and change the limit switch cable.
