    Cam grinding?

Ive been lurking around looking at build threads since I found one of these motors on YouTube. I want to build a small simple single or maybe two cylinder. Question is how do you guys grind your cams?

You can machine most of the material away with a milling machine and then "round-off" with a hand file.

I made a machine to grind cams but some will say "it'll never work" and go into vast theory as to why not.

However, the cams are simple and the 4 cylinder engine (25cc) it is installed in will run up to 10,000 rpm. Quite a satisfactory result for me.

Have some pics of the grinder somewhere if you are interested.

Found the pics of the grinder.

Have started to build a "parallel tracking" grinder to do vintage motorcycle cams. More acccurate approach for these.

Also, these couple of sites should help.

If you go back to just the "techniques" in this web site, it opens up a vast array of information.

I make my camshafts in the lathe using a fixture. Read this for more info.
